The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our site. This policy is designed to inform you about what information we collect and how we use it. Any personal information provided to us through our website is collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the British Columbia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and other applicable legislation. The Freshwater Fisheries Society collects information that you voluntarily give us through the email newsletter sign-up form and event registration forms.

The Freshwater Fisheries Society may also automatically collect information when you visit our website. We use the Google AdWords remarketing service to advertise on third-party websites (including Google) to past visitors to this site. Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and our service providers (for support reasons), may store or access your information. In certain circumstances, we may need to disclose information to our service providers in order to facilitate the operation of our website, or e-newsletter software. Before any personal information is disclosed, all recipient organizations must agree to protect the privacy of personal information in a contractual manner consistent with our policy and compliant with BC’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

How Long Information is Retained

The length of information retention varies in relation to the nature of the service provided. We keep information for the length of time necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected.

Email Subscription

Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC newsletters are sent only to users who opt in. Our subscriber database is never sold, rented or loaned to any other parties. Subscribers wishing to update their contact information, or opt out of receiving emails, can click the SafeUnsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter.

We collect aggregate information regarding open rates and page views from our HTML email newsletters. Aggregate information does not personally identify individuals. Subscribers concerned about collection of aggregate information may unsubscribe using the SafeUnsubscribe link.
