Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery and          Visitor Centre

About the Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery

The Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery was built on the existing site in 1977 using recycled water technology - one of the first recycle systems in hatcheries.  Water for the facility is supplied by four wells which draw water from the Abbotsford aquifer. In 2014 the hatchery is undergoing an upgrade.

Species Raised

The hatchery releases approximately 860,000 fish, including catchable sized rainbow trout and steelhead trout, into 150 lakes and streams throughout B.C. each year.

The Visitor Centre is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am - 3pm. If you would like to book a program please contact us.

Please Note: The Visitor Centre will be closed for the Easter Weekend.
